For this, the second last day of AEDM, I have been thinking about TIME. I'm waiting for a bunch of Christmas presents to be delivered so they can be wrapped and go under our newly decorated tree. (I told you we wouldn't make it to Dec 1st before putting up the tree!) I'm also waiting for mid December to arrive so we can do all the baking. Time can be a real b*tch when you're waiting for the proverbial pot to boil. And, I've been feeling the creep of time getting away from me when it comes to finishing that Birthday Rose for my friend and getting her Christmas present + Birthday prezzie in the mail in time for it to actually arrive for Christmas. And don't forget all the Christmas cards I have to write so they can be in the mail in time to get there to all my friend's doorsteps NOT for New Years but actually for Christmas, lol.
Funny, I'm finding time is both going too fast and moving as slow as molasses. It must be a physics thing, how can it be doing both?? Well, since I don't own a magic wand and I didn't rub an old lamp and get three wishes from a fat genie, I guess I have to wait around just like everyone else. The good thing though is that I get to wait around in a purrrty house decorated to an inch of it's life with glittery bows, sparkly lights and scented pinecones.
Christmas always makes me so happy. I walk around for more than a month of Sundays with a smile from ear to ear. I'm already wishing people Merry Christmas. The Christmas spirit bubbles forth, not to be denied. I hope you all are making your lists and checking them twice and being good girls and boys, no one wants coal in their stockings.
SO... ♫ Have a holly, Jolly Christmas! It's the best time of the year. I don't know if there'll be snow but have a cup of cheer!!! ♫
Talk to you all soon. :o)
Best,

Love your clock. I have been thinking of clocks a lot lately. I have been making art cards, clipping images out of magazines and those fancy watch faces get me everytime. I have also been thinking about Christmas...and how happy it makes me to give. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a great sketch... it is crazy how quickly the last few days fly by for AEDM isn't it... so glad you had a great time.... I had to say it... you would have been disappointed if I didn't ...xx
ReplyDeleteagree AEDM has been great hasn't it! Love your clock sketch! xo L.
ReplyDeleteLove your clock sketch, Jenn! I'm feeling a little worn out as I posted every day in October too for Blogtoberfest. I'm glad AEDM/Nablopomo is almost at an end....it went by pretty fast. That said, I'm still committed to doing daily sketches until around Dec. 14th although won't have to post daily. I also need to paint up two Christmas ornaments for my granddaughters over the next week or two. This time of year always seems extra busy to me. It plain wears me out and I'm glad when it's behind us. I guess I must be a bit of a humbug. LOL
ReplyDeleteP.S. We'll be putting our tree up on the 1st. :)
I LOVE your clock, and as it is my day off I had the time to look at it properly :D Also it caught my eye as one of my photos for today is a watch x
ReplyDeleteYou could always make cookies earlier and freeze them. I've done that. I know quite a few people who have done that. Take the pressure off the time crunch any way you can--and a lot of cookies taste just as good after being frozen. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your clock! Time does seem to be both flying for me and slow, too. I can't start writing out cards/letters until I have the cards printed (3rd) and picked up (?).
Love your Christmas tune!! Enjoy!! :)
I love your clock. I like that it's an old time alarm clock. It just looks friendly and happy.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about doing an altered book spread on time. I have a lot of clock and time stamps.
Sure wish I could draw like you... ah well, I use the talent I have.
If I send you my address will you bake me cookies too? I don't bake anymore... I've lost the touch and everything burns.
Love your old fashioned alarm clock. And I know just what you mean about time being kind of wonky! It seems to speed up or slow down depending on what I'm anticipating vs dreading. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your pictures. That clock is fantastic, if a little scary as time is ticking too fast around here. There is no way I'm putting up our tree yet, we are expecting a heat wave to come through, so no Christmas thinking here yet. I'm super impressed that you managed to get through the AEDM, I'm just trying like crazy to get one post out. Hope to sneak in a post for APR amongst the madness of making things for tomorrows 21st party.

Too cool how it's popping off the page
ReplyDeleteI love your clock, my dear Jenn ... And how true it is that "tempus fugit." How is it that now that I have a bit more time to myself daily that I don't get more done? This is an odd sort of physics as well. I think the only way for me to stop the hands of time friom fleeting, I should fly against the International Date Line a few times and land in Nanaimo for a respite! What do you think?
ReplyDeleteOh Chiristmas tree, oh Christmas tree, how I wish my dog wouldn't pee on thee!! Seriously, we have been relegated to a fake tabletopper, much higher than Morgan's nose and lifted leg., to protect my hardwood floor. I'd love to go back to a real tree ... Maybe with a fence around it or in a room with a gate? Or get a Weenie Belt for Morgan? Nonetheless, it's not going up until .... Just until. February??
You inspire me.... Will I ever be as disciplined as you have demonstrated in AEDM? Ask my hubby ... When God gave out discipline, I missed that dish as it was passed at the family dinner. Is my problem lacjk of discipline or Adult Attention Deficit Disorder? Or just being Ellen?
Much love,
Ellen (CardMonkey)
