I know I go on and on about my addiction to hazelnut coffee but I do love the ceremony of making tea. When I need comforting I make tea. Coffee is for chatting with friends, tea is for deep conversations and cozying into your favorite chair with a good book on a rain day.

The site manager looked at Cliff and said, "Oh, didn't you get the memo, today's a rain day."
"What?!!?" my dad yelled. "It's perfectly sunny without a cloud in the sky!!"
The guy looked at Cliff (dad) with a grin on his face. "I guess you're not from around here. Eight out of ten of the workers voted that it was raining too much to safely work so it's a rain day. Go home and enjoy your day off man!"
My dad blinked, flabbergasted. He got a more complete explanation before going home. It seems that to ensure safety (in a Province that gets a lot of rain) there is a rule that says that if 80% of the workers agree that there is too much rain to make it safe to be working on slippery roofs etc. then they go home to work another day when it's not raining. It's true that the workers don't get paid for these rain days so voting to go home when it's actually safe to work is really rare but sometimes on truly beautiful days when everyone agrees, ahh, let's just go home, they do. It just happened that my dad hit upon one of those very rare non-rain rain days, lol. The next day all was well and the construction workers were steadily back at work diligently doing their jobs by 7 AM.
Anyway, onto my teapot series... I don't think I've ever done anything this colorful and I LOVE it. It's funny, I am so drawn to colorful, interesting and dimensional work, you'd think I'd do more. Hopefully now that I see I can, I will. :o)

Title: "I'm A Little Teapot!" |
Best,

Just whipping through, but I had to stop and say.....I LOVE YOUR TEA POTS♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteblessings,
Cindy♥
Jenn these teapots are adorable! So cute and colourful...I love them ;D
ReplyDeleteEach one looks to have such a personality.
I have a very small collection of pots myself but they aren't as bright as these.
I adore the tea making ceremony too...there's something very reassuring and comforting about making and sharing a cuppa.
Amazing story about the rain days too...my hubby is a Project Manager and has had incredible trouble with rain days and even work stopping for 'spitting' but when I read you're story to him, I think he now realises it's not been as bad as it could have been! ;D
Enjoy you're weekend ~ Have fun and lots of tea! xox
Those are some beautiful teapots, Jenn! The colors and shapes are just stunning. I like the rain day idea, but I don't think it would fly in my school district. LOL! Have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteOooo, I love your gorgeous teapots. They are so cute and bright. I have some fancy teapots but none as bright and lovely as this. My tea ceremony consists of putting in a tea bag :) sad aren't I. You are so clever they way you can put a few things into a picture and they look just right, as if they had always been there. You will have to teach me your secret :0
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Luv Von
These are some lOVely looking teapots! I think the way 'we' feel about tea is reflected not only by our mood but also by how it is made and what in and what it is drunk from - but that's just me ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday and thank you for creative challenges :0)
OH, tea!!! I do love me a spot of tea, much like you are addicted to Hazelnut coffee, I was an Earl Grey aficionado for years. My favorite was finding it in loose leaves but packed in silken pyramid shapes at Tea Forte. And then, for whatever reason, I stopped. Went to coffee for a bit, never really got much into either coffee or tea except for social occasions. If I had a fancy pot to steep it in such as those you've drawn, I suppose I could get back in the habit. Til then, water. Boring!! Pinkie finger held high in the air from my fancy cup, I am yours ...

ReplyDeleteI am such a sucker for tea pots and these are so gloriously colourful and bright.... I kind of want that middle one... that is my kind of tea pot... I thought you would do coffee mugs of something to do with your coffee obsession so i am glad you have come to the dark side...xx
ReplyDeleteLove them...We have that Britto heart shaped Teapot plus a few more Brittos too! It's the only thing I can buy my daughter that I know she will love and wouldn't buy herself!!
