Artist's Play Room #21

This last week brought some creative and wonderful artwork. As I suspected would happen over the summer (and I'm sure the fact that the Olympics is on), we have significantly less participants this week. I to appreciate all artists who submitted and just so anyone who ran out of time is feeling guilty, art isn't about guilt. I totally understand running out of time, I almost didn't get my piece in either!! :o) I hope to see you this week but please don't beat yourself up if you just can't participate, I totally understand even though I'll miss you.

Now, on to some gorgeous "In Series" art...

This was such a fun series to do, it inspires me to
do more, maybe a whole series of series', lol.

Darla did a series of individual
cards with wonderful faces and
so true sayings. Click through,
they're totally worth it!!

Tracey has done a great painting
of teaspoons, their handles and
bowls are such perfection. We'll
miss you in APR for the next
couple weeks!!

Elizabeth has chosen a real
love of mine, and I'm not
ashamed to admit I drool
over purrrty shoes. LOVE
this collection!

Tracy has done a loving and nostalgic look at her children's
stuffies, the write up about them is so heart warming. It makes
me remember all my faves, like how I dragged hunny bunny
around by the ears for YEARS. Ahh, the memories. Thanks Tracy.

Twinkletoes has done a cool
collection of her son's double
decker busses. I love these!

Vonny has done several
adorable coffee pots.
I'm not sure if that's breaking
Aussie rules, liking coffee!!

Gloria has rendered these
gorgeous nesting bowls.
The happily remind me of
cooking with mom.

Terrie has over achieved
and done many wonderful
series paintings. I love
the trees best, gorgeous!

Neesie has been inspired
by the Olympics. I really
LOVE the drawings in
the rings, perfection.

Currie is a new player in APR,
welcome. She has submitted
a series of puppy pictures
from when her service dog
was young, Awwww!

Serena has done a
wonderful Buddha series,
the orange to emphasize
them is spectacular.

Andrea has painted some
painted rocks and their
wonderful. She doesn't
know that I have a collection
of poetry rocks!

Arnoldo has added another
icon to his series of religious
paintings, really lovely.

Vim & Vintage

I decided this week to go with color as a theme, leaving it wide open to interpretation. My very favorite colors are TURQUOISE & LIME. I love these colors, besides bright eye searing fuchsia, these two colors are my very favorites. Now, you don't have to use only turquoise and lime, feel free to add others of your favorite colors, (I just might add fuchsia, my third fave color!), just try to use the two featured colors somewhere in your artwork. And, since you know I always give you an out, if you just HATE turquoise and lime you can always let your mind roam to what you think about when you think of these two colors and do that as a theme! Be creative.

Right now in fashion, turquoise and lime are amazingly popular. It's so easy to find something to fit within this color scheme no matter where you look lately.
