Thank You, My Friend

Well we all made it to another fresh new year. I always find a new year so exciting to start. Think of all the possibilities for growth and change throughout this upcoming twelve months. Last year was my most successful year for a long time. I proudly completed many of my resolutions, so in this new year I'm going to use that momentum as a spring board to success going forward. I'm planning to do more painting, promotion and networking in my city of Victoria. Hopefully I can bring to life my artistic dreams. I'd love to hear about all of your resolutions for 2011.

I want to send out a huge Thank You to my friend Kim at Kimminita. She sent me a wonderful Christmas present, she totally spoiled me! It started out when, earlier in the year, I commented on her blog about one of her beautiful mandalas. She commented back that she had a few postcards that she'd had made up with her mandalas on them and she'd send them to me. I was thrilled. Then a big problem occurred. Kim and her very cool sounding boyfriend decided to renovate the office in their home and the mandalas inadvertently got packed away with everything else in that room. Well, it's totally understandable that she couldn't put her hands on them for quite a while. I know what that's like, having no way of getting to something you want because it's packed and stored away.

Zoom forward several months, the office is done, it's gorgeous (yippee! Lucky girl!) and she will send them ASAP. Well now. I don't just receive three beautiful postcards with her mandalas. (here's my favorite mandala in a frame I received from another friend this Christmas)....

...but in the puffy envelope is also a hand made grocery tote made out of vintage fabric (so cool looking!) and this...

... a vintage book on flower painting AND this gorgeous paint brush holder in green vintage fabrics!! Holy COW! I mean, not only is green my very favorite color but this is totally perfect for my brushes. I can fill it with dozens of brushes then roll it up to keep them together and protected. Thank you so much, Kim. Not only do your sewing skills ROCK, your generosity is so appreciated. I absolutely love my present. Just so you all know, Kim decided to learn to sew this last year. You should check out both her blog and her Etsy store for some of the items she's made with her very skilled hands. She does beautifully clean work, as you can see from above. Sending hugs to you, Kim!

So, welcome to the beginning of a new year. It's gonna be great, I'm sure. I'm looking forward to sharing more of my art with you all, restarting Tuesday Mosaic with Artmind and bring you exciting artists I come across as I learn about what moves me. I can't wait to continue our conversation. I look forward to hearing from you all!

We'll talk very soon,

P.S.
Happy Blogoversary to Me! I'll be doing a giveaway soon so keep your eyes peeled for the blog post announcing what you could win if you enter! Thanks to all my readers for their support this last year. It's been such a joy sharing with you all.
