I'm so excited to jumpstart my art-making abilities. I have never had a habit of art. I have always envied those who draw or paint everyday, making and finding precious time in their busy days to do what fills them up. I know I'm a happier person when I'm creating, I just don't know how to sustain the habit. Somehow, I start and then find a reason to stop and take a break. That break can stretch into a horrendous block, sending fear into my heart about how to start creating again.
I know "Beginnings" is all about finding your enthusiasm for art and giving yourself permission to draw. It's about silencing that inner critic that can keep you from creating anything and it's about bring together people who want to use a sketchbook in a consistent way. I think it's just what I need, something to bring enthusiasm back into my life and give me new ideas about how to use the sketchbooks I have. Did I mention that I can't wait?
