Here's how my brain works, just so if you wondered about the rats nest in there, you'd have a crude map.
- Dinner's over, what shall I do?
- I wonder what's on TV?
- I could work on the recipes I'm culling for Duncan...
- How the heck am I gonna explain to him what a roux is? That's a good Jeopardy question...
- Ooh, there's always Jeopardy taped!
- Taped? Other stuff's taped too. Maybe something else...
- Did I brush my teeth this morning? Of course I did, why wouldn't I?
- OOH!!! CORONATION STREET must have taped!! YAY!!
- I wonder what's gonna happen with Kylie?
- I wonder what a rum and coke tastes like. I should really expand my alcohol knowledge..
- Awww, it's Saturday, Coronation's not on on Saturday.
- SATURDAY!!!! SH*T! I forgot about APR!
- *Jenn sits down to apologize that she can't even tell the days of the week and the first APR of the new year is LATE*
- Sigh. Sorry. *hangs head in utter shame*

It;s so nice to be back and thank you to all of you who noticed. :o)

Love the path you outlined of how your thoughts led to the next. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks like that. Its nice to have you back Jenn!
ReplyDeleteIt seems we both have squirrel tendencies Jenn! I too am so easily distracted by shiny paper, now I have a name for by affliction I feel so much better! :) Coronation Street!! What about Peter Barlow! What a scoundrel! Linked up my mermaid bowl as I have been working on it during the festive period. Nice to have you back Jenn.
ReplyDeletehahahaha! you sound like me!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see you back Jenn - I had wondered if you were not well but didn't like to ask, so I was sending you my good thoughts just in case. Life is difficult sometimes, but battling through makes us stronger, and I am glad you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteMy name for the same tendency? Well, Butterfly Mind, which is why I called my blog by that name.
I've always loved your sense of humor. Anyway, I always say, it's better late than never. Blessings!

ReplyDeleteLOL! That's what I use my blog tag "Pinky trail" for—after Pinky's seeming non sequitur responses in Pinky and the Brain. "Seeming" because in one episode, the cartoon shows the trail of his thoughts from what has just happened to the response he voices, and it hooks together in exactly the same non-linear but logical fashion you illustrated above. So you're not alone in your quirk, and at least you're not trying to take over the world. :-)
ReplyDelete(As for the roux, Cajun cooking 101: Equal parts oil and flour, stirred constantly over low heat—preferably in an iron pot—until browned to the desired depth.)
And here's me thinking that I'm unique. Great minds think alike eh? I had every intention of joining in on this first week of APR.
ReplyDeleteHa! fat chance it seems...hence no entry from me :(
Onwards and upwards you say...here's to next week.
In the meantime, I'll just visit all the other organised talented artists to keep me inspired.
Thanks for hosting even if I don't enter, it's just lovely to know that you're there for when I get my act together.
Happy New Year Jenn...I hope this year is the best one yet for you and yours! xoxo
Hi there!!
ReplyDeleteI just started a brand new art blog and I thought this would be a nice way to meet some fellow art bloggers. Any advice would be VERY appreciated! Thanks everybody <3

ReplyDeleteDearest fellow Squirrel brain, I think that sounds so adorable compared with Rat-nest brain, you mustn't put yourself down like that!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have given me a good giggle to start the year. Don't worry it's still the holidays no-one will notice and everyone will appreciate the extra time to prepare.
Now am I going to find my inner creative and join you? Sadly I need you to delay the start a lot longer for that but I love seeing what you do and wish you a wonderful 2014!
