Artist's Play Room #16 (Canada Day Edition)

Once again, sorry this week's APR is so late, I just didn't think it would take me all day to finish my piece. I always underestimate how long a new piece will take me!! So, here we go...

Last week's Artist's Play Room had it's theme around gardening and gardens. I encouraged (as always) you to think outside of the box. The great thing about all the participants of APR is that you DID think outside the box and you made some spectacular art. Before I get to this week's theme (it's Canada's Birthday tomorrow, hint, hint) let's show off all your yummy pieces... I love this part.

Title: "The Greenhouse"

Gloria has painted a bright &
beautiful flower. I love the color.

Gloria's second submission is a
cute worm on a mushroom!

Darla has done a darling thing
using a scanner and a simple
daisy. So refreshing!

Sandee drew a sweet
hummingbird feeder,
maybe we'll attract some
hummingbirds! Love them.

Twinkletoes did a collage
of butterflies, bees &
dragonflies. Very sweet.

Arnoldo has done a lovely
religious piece of Jesus
in the garden, I love the
colors.

Tracey painted her
nemesis, the big green
hose machine. It tries to
eat her hand regularly!

Dion has just moved to a new
home and this is the beautiful
garden she's inherited. Congrats!

Terrie has played with Photoshop
and given us this wondrous
selection. Beautiful!

Bonnie has done a lovely journal
page of colorful flowers, just
beautiful Bonnie. Welcome!

Elizabeth combined IA and
APR and did a journal page
about gardening, lovely!

Minn has painted up a storm
and produced some really
gorgeous produce from the
garden. Wow Min, just wow.

Lynn did a garden themed
tag with a doodly bird
flying over, watering her garden,
so darn cute!!

Tracy has made a sweet little
fairy garden, her first. I can
just imagine the fairies hiding
in the foliage!

Alice is an incredible
photographer although
she's taking a break to focus
on other kinds of art.

Serena has done a wonderfully
expressive line drawing of her
Dracaena plant using ONLY pen.
That takes talent and guts! So great!

Cindy is Proud to be Canadian!

As I said above, it's Canada's birthday on July 1st. Wooo Hoo!! Yes, I know it's also USA's birthday on July 4th too, but we're talking about MY country here! ;o)  So, I thought why not do a theme of red and white?? Then I thought, why not expand that to include celebrating all things Canadian? So, let's do that! You can do something red and white (ok and blue if you insist!) or you can do something Canadian, like a moose or a beaver or a goose or a maple leaf or a flag or even a box of Smarties! Did you know that  those little colorful chocolate morsels are Canadian?? YES! Once again, if you INSIST, you can do American themed things, since this week it's YOUR country's birthday too. (sigh, I guess we Canadians gotta share the week, lol.) So, if you're American and you want to celebrate YOUR country's birthday then do something red white & blue or draw an eagle or decorate an American flag or do something with stars or stripes or how about do something with your national flower, the rose. Go do some research, look up stuff and get inspired. I can't wait to see what you do.
