Artist's Play Room #13

Last week's Artist's Play Room was such fun! I loved all the zentangles that were submitted last week. You people are so darn creative and it's fun discovering all your art as you link up. For those of you who landed here and are reading me for the first time, APR is held every Saturday and continues throughout the week until the nest Saturday when I do a wrap up of the previous week and then announce this week's theme.

Last week we tackled Zentangles, meditative doodling involving repetitive patterns to create beautiful images. I love doodling/zentangling, it really is very relaxing and I recommend it if you've never tried. There are many tangle sites that will teach you oodles of patterns to get you started. Ok, on to the ART because that's why we're all here.

Here we go!

My piece is called "Chopsticks". I thought they would lend
themselves well to tangling.

Za Faran has painted a
monochromatic and
thought provoking
piece in blue.

Twinkle toes did some
lovely colorful butterflies

Ritu has zentangled the hair
of a lovely lady.

Sandee has created a very bright
and colorful fish, love him!

Carol has done her name as a
tangle looks great!

Tracy has tried her first tangle, what
a great job, the DG stands for
Domestic Gourdess!

Simona did a combination of
tangles and books, sweet!

Cindy isn't sure this
counts as a tangle, YES
IT DOES and it's gorg.

Neesie has shown some
serious tangling chops.
She submitted 12 for me
to choose from, what a
chore, go check them out.

It;s so nice to see another friend of
mine stopping by to play. Great
zen Ellen, you rock!

Minn's tangled a dragon, I love him,
although he looks quite friendly and
I think he's out of fire which is
good if you want to be friends
with a dragon.

Vonny zetangled both the oranges
and the basket, so great Von.
I love how you capture fruit.

Tracey has done her first
tangle and I love the colors
Great job Trace even though
it frustrated you to no end.

Susan has done a zen ATC
with lovely red hearts, I
always love art with heart!

Darla is also one of my
over achievers this week.
Go on over and see the

Andrea has done a lovely string in
color, I think it looks terrific.

Terrie tangled then added one of
my fave colors a turquoise. Looks
 great terrie!

Lynn used her doodly birds
to make a very cute
tangle, it looks great!

Virginia has done a
colorful floral tangle,
so unique and lovely.

Arnold has done a beautiful
Celtic design for his tangle,
I love the bold coloration,

Gloria has done a beautiful
abstract piece with botanical
roses tangled in. Stunning.
I love those roses!

Twinkle toes tangled this bus, I love it, it's so cute!
Doesn't it remind you of the Partridge Family Bus?

This week I really wanted to get back to the basics so I decided to do the wide theme of sketching & drawing. Just get your pencils out and draw to your heart's content. I don't care what you draw or whether you embellish it with color, ephemera or use it in other art you're making, just draw, draw, draw!! I personally love drawing and I love it even more when I discovered recently that I'm pretty good at it, finally. This is gonna be a fun week for me! Here's some inspiration...
