I decided to do an apple. Not just any old apple though, I figure if I was gonna draw out an apple, I better make it more difficult and unique. I mean, I did an apple & orange weeks ago. I wanted to do something really challenging and interesting. Here's what I came up with...

Title: "An Apple A Day..." Artist: Jennifer McLean |
On Tuesday, a fun post talking about all my new supplies and their qualities will go up, until then my bloggy friends... I'll miss you. (I'd miss you a little less if you joined me in my Artist's Play Room, I'd LOVE to see your art! Anything GREEN.)
Talk to you later,
Hugs,
P.S. I'd love some new followers in my linky followers tool, I'll follow back if you leave a comment with your blog and ask me to visit. I'm always happy to discover new friends!

Hi Jenn,
ReplyDeleteI would be glad to welcome you on my blog @ http://titbelsoeur.blogspot.com
Not sure I have enough time this week to follow your challenge but I sure will later on !
cheers from France !
what a beautiful job on this apple and those pencils sound like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteVery nice job on the apple. We have Granny apples that grow out in back. Great job.
ReplyDeleteYour apple looks great. I'd have taken a bite out of it, too.
ReplyDeleteWow... that apple looks like it tasted marvelous! ;) Great job! Warmly, Tracy
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! Do you work? If you don't and that's okay, I wish I didn't have too, but if you need a job , just put a resume together and stick this apple on the front of it and you should land an illustrators position in no time!
ReplyDeleteI love to sketch and paint and draw, but nothing I do resembles anything "real" or I should say so photo like.
Maybe that's because I don't work in "real" time. I tend to like whimsical, altered, and crazy stuff! ;)
Your picture makes my mouth water for an apple!

Kim
OMgosh girl your apple is awesome! It's perfectly beautiful & I chuckle at you selecting an eaten apple! So cool & interesting! LOVE it! :D
ReplyDeleteand i agree with Kim.. you could land an illustrators positon in no time... or illustrate a childrens book!! You are an amazing talent Jenn!!
Hugs!
:) Diane
Amazing one! I still have to improve my pencils skills. :))
ReplyDeletewow, this is beautiful, you have such a talent.
ReplyDeleteThat apple looks so real you could eat it. Thanks for sharing how you did it. I have learnt so much from blogs.
ReplyDeleteVon :)
That apple looks so great, and especially the flesh where you really captured some delicate shading and colour work.... love those pencils and how they let you get such detail and not sacrifice colour... just curious if you have tried using hot pressed paper... you get even finer detail with hot pressed paper... I used to use cold pressed all the time, but totally hooked on the hot pressed now...xx
