Closer & Closer...

Here again are some finished pages. The tulips were really great to paint, although the leaves were a little difficult to make sure each related to the other (color-wise), the actual petals painted up perfectly. I took the time to ink all the black space then paint over it with black. I did this to make sure it had a real depth to the black instead of looking dusty.

I must admit I was a little trepidatious when I started the hummingbird drawing. I wasn't totally sure I could get the hand right and I knew if it had any perceptual flaws the drawing would seriously look awful. But I was pleasantly surprised. I'm happy with how it turned out.

I'll be posting over the next week the last of the sketchbook pages. So please keep coming back to see how it turns out! Thanks for your loyalty!
